This week’s Gold Soundz is a bit abridged as I’m on vacation, but here’s a quick recap of what is hitting stores and streaming services this week.
Hit Chip are back with a new one and based on the lead singles, it captures their sound with great meaning and will surely get you to the dance floor. The Mountain Goats have a new one out this week that continues the prolific streak of Jeff Darnielle’s musical outpouring and this one features one of his strongest backing bands yet.
Post-metal rockers Russian Circles charge back this week with a bold and moving new album full of powerful, chugging anthems that fit perfectly in their run of instrumental metal jams. Radio rockers Silversun Pickups continue their ‘90s alt-rock stylings on their latest album, which is out this week as well. Singer/songwriter Cass McCombs also returns this week with his latest record of homespun jams.
Dan Snaith’s upcoming Daphni records is shaping up to be great and the latest single, “Mania,” doubles-down with dance fever and hard hitting grooves.
