The honorable mentions for the best albums of 2024
List season has been upon us for what feels like forever, so I’m excited to finally start to share my favorite music releases from the past twelve months. In 2024, I recommended over 200 new releases via this newsletter and I’m happy to share what I think are the best / my favorite albums, songs, EPs, reissues, and shows of the year.
Today, I’m starting things off with my list of honorable mentions for the best albums of 2024. You can think of this as an alphabetized list of the 51-75 best records and this could’ve easily extended to 51-100, but I had to draw the line somewhere and that means I still had to leave some great stuff of this list. This year was truly exceptional for new music and I had such a great time discovering new artists and hearing the latest from some long-time favorites.
Next week I’ll share my top 50 albums and top 100 songs of the year, according to me. As always, I’m sure there are things I missed and just didn’t have time to listen to, but I hope that what I did manage to engage with will also resonate with you.
