The biggest release day of the year is here. Adele’s 30 is here and it’s without question the most anticipated release of the year, if not the past five. It’s practically guaranteed to break records and will for certain be the most streamed album of the day and weekend. I also can’t imagine any other physical sales from the year topping this one. It doesn’t get bigger than this.
Mr. Twin Sister is back with a new LP and it’s a very dance-forward album that should be essential for your holiday parties over the next month. Clams Casino also returns with a new mix tape and icon / living legend Brian Wilson has shared piano takes on his classics that are sure to soundtrack a coffee house or other tranquil destination some time soon.
Cassandra Jenkins has shred a companion EP to her album, a contender for best of the year, (An Overview On) An Overview On Phenomenal Nature. It includes demos and new tracks from the sessions that produced the stunning record. Playing them together is an all time high.
Big Thief finally announced their much anticipated new album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, and it’s a double album consisting of twenty songs! We’ve already heard four and this week the group shared “Time Escaping” along with the announcement of the record.
Kevin Whelan released his third Aeon Station track ahead of his debut album under this moniker and his first since announcing his solo record. Sun June shared “Easy,” a bonus to this year’s really good album, Somewhere, and Arca announced another new album, kick iiii, which is out December 3.
Jeff Parker announced a follow-up to last year’s Suite for Max Brown. The album is made up of solo guitar songs and it’s called Forfolks and is out next month. Alice Glass, formerly of Crystal Castles, has finally announced her debut solo album. The record is called PREY///IV and is out in January, but she shared the lead single today.
