This summer, my blog omg!nyc will turn fifteen, a milestone I never thought I would reach. To celebrate, I’m going to try and take on a new challenge. For the past decade and a half, I’ve blogged about live shows (something I cannot express how much I miss), new songs that had me hitting replay almost as soon as they’d finished, and annual best-of lists. I still plan to keep up that cadence and hope to start writing about live music again, but am excited to share a new venture in my music writing journey.
Introducing: The Shape of Music to Come!
I hope to share more content here that never really felt at home on my other blog. Each week, I’ll send out a round-up of the new music (songs AND albums) hitting streaming services or stores that week that get the omg!nyc seal of approval as well as more long-form pieces on album anniversaries, significant musical milestones, new to me discoveries, or anything else that feels relevant.
2020 was a learning experience for so many and one of my takeaways was that even in isolation, my love of writing about music persists and I’m hoping this will bring about new ways to share my passion with more people.
Thanks for checking it out and if you’re so inclined, please subscribe and share with others.
